This chapter considers Cornish language glossaries dating from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and further discussions regarding the language in contemporary Cornish newspapers. It then discusses those articles on Cornish which were published with increasing frequency in academic journals based both within and outwith Cornwall. It finishes by presenting the evidence of additional letters and manuscripts and what these tell us about further nineteenth century use of the language within Cornish society before closing the chapter by considering folk knowledge, including an analysis of the claims of Ralph Allin-Collins to have hereditary knowledge of the language and the concerns of others regarding what effect his claims could have on the status of Cornish.
