It can also be caused by issues with the saliva glands themselves, such as a stone or blockage. The cause must be identified, as treating the cause may improve the symptoms experienced. Understanding why your mouth is dry will also help to make it more manageable. The causes of dryness are covered in more depth in Chap. 69 . In this chapter, we will focus on managing dry mouth symptoms.
