Cosmetic dental procedures are procedures performed on some, or all, of the visible teeth to enhance their appearance, colour, shape and alignment, and by so doing, enhance a person’s appearance. They can range from simple procedures taking only a single appointment to long and complicated treatments. Many cosmetic procedures require the removal of some tooth structure and, as such, are irreversible, so the benefits and biological cost of such treatment must be carefully considered before any irreversible procedures are begun.
