There are several options for repair of transposition of the great arteries. Individual anatomy determines the decision for atrial, ventricular or arterial switch. A double switch is done for congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries. Anaesthetic management depends on repair and associated/residual lesions. Usually the repair is good, but late problems can arise from arrhythmias or stenosis/obstruction caused by sutures or conduits. Some operations include coronary re-implantation which might cause coronary perfusion problems. Maintain preload. Inotropes might be needed for ventricular function.
