Anaesthetic Assessment and Planning
摘要
Preoperative assessment is essential for anaesthetic planning, deciding on the anaesthetic technique and risk management in cardiac children. An anaesthetic assessment for a cardiac child includes a clinical examination (heart sounds/murmurs, auscultation of lungs, pulse status, as well as signs (or the lack thereof) of heart failure, etc), as well as an assessment of investigations. Chief amongst them is the Echocardiogram, which provides both an anatomical as well as a functional assessment. This is the main basis for the anaesthetic planning.
