Information systems on researcher curricula have become a source of data for governments to be able to make strategic decisions regarding the investments to be made. However, these systems are insufficient when the information is incorrect or incomplete. This work presents a tool that aids in the process of validating the research information metadata stored in the Colombian researcher curriculum vitae system (CvLAC). To this effect, a work focused on extracting, manipulating, and cleaning the data in the system was carried out, in order to perform analyses, studies, and validations with international systems such as Crossref, finding notable errors in the form of inconsistent or misreported data, such as authors and data that do not correspond to existing articles or products. Identifying these errors will contribute to enhance research evaluation processes and therefore to better target investments.
