In a letter dated 18 November 1946, he shared with director and producer Roy Limbert that he felt “the new play... so bad that [he] ought to burn it.” Stephen WinstenWinsten, Stephen recalled an early 1947 visit from his Ayot St. Lawrence neighbor carrying the three-act script in hand but attributed to an unknown author, a “Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.”
