Striking a Balance: How AI Impacts Job Demands, Resources, and Employee Well-Being
摘要
This study examines the implications of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the workplace, using the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) model to analyze its impact on employee well-being and job satisfaction. We illustrate how AI can serve as both a valuable resource and a source of new demands. AI can potentially alleviate workload and enhance productivity by automating tasks and providing employees with efficient tools. However, it can also introduce new demands, such as the need for new skills and the potential for increased performance expectations. This study provides insights for organizations to optimize AI implementation to benefit both employees and the company, while acknowledging potential drawbacks and ethical considerations. We propose a variety of future research directions to further investigate the relationship between AI and the workplace, encompassing longitudinal studies, qualitative analyses, experimental studies, surveys, modeling and policy analysis.
