Blockchain Ledger for Supply Chain: A Decentralized Framework
摘要
The supply chain spans multiple geolocations, industries, and modes. It involves various stages where data moves in two ways: from retailers, distributors, manufacturers, and suppliers to clients. This data flow is required to promote crucial market coverage and product cost trading decisions. Existing supply chain systems are centralized and ineffective in supporting real-time security, scalability, and transparency. This paper suggests a decentralized private ledger to share information, in pseudo-real-time, between business partners. The proposed framework utilizes a decentralized blockchain ledger to exchange and record the shipments’ custody events. The framework creates and associates a private ledger for each shipment, allowing the whole network to uphold the increase in shipments using a hybrid peer-to-peer communication model. Since the custody events are only shared between business partners, the participants’ privacy is ensured.
