The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the Incidence Dynamics of Main Disease Categories in the Russian Federation
摘要
To assess the impact of the COVID-19Pandemic pandemicCOVID-19 pandemic on the dynamics of other nosological formsNosological forms in the Russian FederationRussian federation (RF), the incidenceIncidence of the main categories, such as DiseasesDiseases of Circulatory SystemCirculatory system (DCS) and Malignant NeoplasmsNeoplasms (MN)Malignant Neoplasms (MN), was analyzed. Time seriesTime series of standardized incidence for each category were examined for the period 2007–2019 (pre-COVID-19)Pre-Covid, and 2020–2023 (COVID-19 and post-COVID-19). TheCOVID-19 post-COVIDPost-COVID-19 trendsTrend were compared to those hypothetically expectedExpected with no COVID impact. For the majority of the RF regions, upward trends of incidenceIncidence were detected both in pre-COVIDPre-Covid and post-COVIDPost-COVID-19 years. In the first year of the pandemicPandemic, a decrease in incidence was observedObserved for all categories. The median incidence rates of MN in the post-COVID period were lower than expectedExpected in most of the country, while those of DCS demonstrated heterogeneous distribution with no clear spatial patternsSpatial patterns.
