Can Risk Stratification Models Be Used to Identify Patients without Cirrhosis Who Might Benefit from Hepatocellular Carcinoma Surveillance?
摘要
There is heterogeneity in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) risk, both among patients with cirrhosis and those without cirrhosis. HCC risk calculators are needed that estimate HCC risk accurately in individual patients, including in precirrhotic liver disease and in specific conditions of high interest. HCC risk calculators would enable risk-based surveillance and could replace the current one-size-fits-all strategy.
