The leaves of Turnera ulmifolia were employed in this study to investigate the in vitro inhibitory effects of its fractionated extracts on α-amylase, α-glucosidase, dipeptidyl peptidase-IV, and angiotensin-converting enzyme. Additionally, the compounds present in Turnera ulmifolia were identified. The leaves of Turnera ulmifolia were dried and finely ground in the study. Determination of compounds in the medicinal herb Turnera ulmifolia using phytochemical analysis methods. The leaf powder was extracted with 96% ethanol to obtain a crude extract, which was then subjected to liquid-liquid fractionation using solvents of increasing polarity to yield n-hexane, chloroform, n-butanol, and water fractions. The fractions were evaluated for their inhibitory activity against enzymes involved in blood glucose and blood pressure regulation. The activity high was observed in the n-butanol fraction, which inhibited α-amylase, α-glucosidase, DDP-IV, and ACE with IC50 values of 313.65 (µg/mL), 98.35 (µg/mL), 163.98 (µg/mL), and 78.45 (µg/mL), respectively. Furthermore, the study conducted a preliminary phytochemical analysis of Turnera ulmifolia, revealing the presence of essential compounds such as Flavonoids, Alkaloids, Coumarins, Tannins, Saponins, and Anthranoids. This study identified several compounds with the potential to inhibit α-glucosidase, α-amylase, DPP- IV, and ACE; they demonstrated their effectiveness in lowering post-meal blood glucose levels, managing diabetes, and regulating hypertension. It provides a foundation for future research to develop safe and accessible natural health supplements.
