Mobile health services (mHealth) are seen as an appealing approach to addressing the healthcare challenges elderly people face. However, insufficient concentration has been focused on investigating older users’ continuance intention towards mHealth. This paper aims to explore elderly users’ continuance intention by validating an integrated model based on health belief model (HBM), expectation-confirmation model (ECM), and user adaptation perspective. The SmartPLS4 was used to analyze an online data set of 332 elderly mHealth users from large clinics in Vietnam’s Southern provinces. The study findings revealed that all the relationships between perceived benefits, health threats, adaptation, and satisfaction with continuance intention are positively significant. In addition, user adaptation and satisfaction are confirmed as a mediator of the relationship between continuance intention and HBM’s factors. The study is among the first to integrate HBM, ECM, and adaptation to find out how elderly users continue to use mHealth. The study provides insightful theoretical and managerial implications for mHealth researchers, providers, and policymakers in Vietnam and other emerging economies.

摘要
