X-ray is a commonly implemented paraclinical test at all health facilities when treating wrist injury. However, the results are not always as requested, as the angles and distances cannot be measured due to incorrect positioning of the wrist. An immobilization wrist device for X-rays is necessary to ensure correct positioning of the wrist; it can make the projections at one angle and can control the wrist’s position at the desired location. Therefore, we conducted research with the goal of “Designing a tool to help control wrist posture during X-rays with anteroposterior and lateral position.” We designed a prospective study. Initial survey on 5 volunteer subjects, including 4 healthy subjects, 1 subject who had just fallen, leading to a wrist injury, no previous wrist damage was detected. Self-made devices have a mechanical forming and many assembly structures, which are convenient for storage and replacement when damaged, without having to replace the entire item. The device allows the patient's wrist to be immobilized during the scan and adjust the angles within the normal person's range of motion. For the subject with a wrist injury, the X-ray results showed that the distal forearm fracture would be more visible and easier to detect in an X-ray with the correct wrist position than the wrong one. Through initial evaluation results of use on a number of volunteers participating in the study, we found that this device is easy to use. Although the total X-ray time when using the device will be longer than when not using the device, the benefits that the device brings are significant for clinical practice.
