Efficiency is an important aspect of the functioning of any organization. This report presents the results of two self-conducted studies related to the time-tracking system. A commercial organization operating in the Bulgarian market was randomly selected for the study. The survey was filled out anonymously and on a voluntary basis. Several key contributory points were identified from the study, which are largely valid not only for the specific organization. As a result of the first survey, the current problems related to employee registration and attendance record keeping at workplaces, including difficulties faced by the Human Resources department specialists, were identified. Another key contribution is that, following the first survey, the organization implemented a new automated time and attendance tracking system. After its implementation, a new anonymous survey among employees was conducted, showing that the difficulties arising from the use of the traditional time and attendance tracking system had been resolved, achieving operational efficiency. Survey data are non-representative and primarily intended to meet the specific organizational requirements of the research company. However, the summary results would be a good basis for conducting other similar studies and serve other organizations where the traditional system of control of working time and rest by filling in attendance books is applied, and may serve in future studies and analyses.

摘要
