This paper aims to analyze the effect of digitalization on the shipbroking business and disclose the profession's sustainability and its adaptation to technological changes. In recent years, all industries have experienced massive digital progress. Digital progress is all about moving away from traditional norms and offering more excellent value to the customer. On the other hand, the shipbroking business is one of the oldest professions, and it still performs its duties in an old-fashioned way. The author is trying to answer the following question: the financial industry sincerely adopted digital trading platforms, and many financial brokers seized from the profession due to technological development, but the freight rate negotiations are still conducted through the shipbrokers. Will digital progress jeopardize the profession by causing it to be wiped out and replaced by digital platforms, or will it become an assisting tool that the broker uses to increase productivity and efficiency?
