Switching networks introduce time-varying communication structures that challenge traditional consensus algorithms. This chapter explores how the control techniques from previous chapters can be adapted to achieve synchronization despite dynamically changing network topologies. Input-to-state stability (ISS) analysis for switched systems is introduced as a technical foundation. The chapter also examines consensus in both first-order and second-order systems, highlighting the role of dynamic filtered communication for the latter.
