Future Directions for Pedagogy in Global Englishes
摘要
This chapter explores the future direction of ELT, advocating a transition toward GELT. GELT acknowledges the linguistic and cultural diversity that defines modern English usage, directly challenging the native-speaker-centric approach. It promotes a more adaptable and inclusive model that reflects the varied contexts in which English is currently used. The urgency of this transition is driven by the changing patterns of English usage, which are increasingly influenced by a broad range of global factors.
