The focus of this study is to optimize the shunting operations in the port area for the transfer of trains from the rail network to maritime terminals and vice versa, with the aim of managing all activities with the available resources while minimizing train dwell times. Two methods are used to schedule and optimize these activities. The two methods are then compared, in terms of computational time and goodness of solution. Preliminary results are given.

摘要

The focus of this study is to optimize the shunting operations in the port area for the transfer of trains from the rail network to maritime terminals and vice versa, with the aim of managing all activities with the available resources while minimizing train dwell times. Two methods are used to schedule and optimize these activities. The two methods are then compared, in terms of computational time and goodness of solution. Preliminary results are given.
