Modern fitness trends, which often emphasize high-intensity workouts, may contribute to reinforcing this perception. The Body Experiences Help 2 Gain Effort Tolerance (BE-2-GET) model provides a framework for understanding how individuals may regulate their effort and rediscover pleasurable experiences in physical activity. It highlights the interaction between three key control loops: affective, emotional, and mental representation. These loops shape how effort is experienced and managed during exercise, encouraging personal affective, motor, and representation experiences of a session, which might be related to long-term engagement. By addressing stress, effort tolerance, and cognitive factors, we propose insights that may help guide individuals toward sustained physical activity and improved health outcomes.
