Forest fires are a global concern, endangering ecosystems, human lives, and economic stability. Forest fires have recently become more common and intense, exacerbated by climate change, land-use patterns, and human activity. As a result, effective implementation of robust policies and strategies is required to enhance management approaches for forest fire control. This chapter discussed key initiatives and approaches to strengthen forest fire management. Firstly, it explores the role of policy frameworks in shaping fire management practices, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, community engagement, and adaptive governance structures. Effective policies prioritize prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery phases, integrating scientific knowledge, indigenous perspectives, and stakeholder involvement. Furthermore, the chapter emphasizes the significance of capacity building and knowledge exchange in enhancing fire management practices. Training programs, skill development initiatives, and information dissemination campaigns empower stakeholders at various levels to mitigate fire risks effectively. Collaborative research efforts and data-sharing mechanisms foster a culture of learning and innovation, facilitating continuous improvement in fire management strategies. We also highlighted that advancing forest fire management practices requires a multifaceted approach encompassing robust policies, innovative strategy, and capacity-building initiatives. Through integrating scientific expertise, technological advancements, and community participation, stakeholders can enhance resilience to forest fires, safeguarding ecosystems and livelihoods for future generations.
