The current study aims at examining the mediating role of digital evolution in the relationship between smart governance and improved international supply chain robustness. Smart governance frameworks use technologies in enhancing efficiency and effective coordination between key players in the governance structure. This quantitative study examines digital change in the context of the automobile retailing industry in Dubai, UAE, with regards to smart government’s influence on global supply chain performance. Data was collected from 220 respondents and SmartPLS 4 was used for analysis to confirm the relations hypothesized. Research shows that smart governance affects digital evolution in organizations, and in the process, improve supply chain efficiency. Altogether, the research findings emphasize the critical impact of governmental initiatives and digitalization of the supply chain in the extensive global environment. To the best of author’s knowledge, this research advances knowledge in the extant literature and provides useful recommendations for policymakers and industrialists who aim at improving digitalization and governmental support for supply chain operations and competitiveness.
