A challenging scenario awaits the future energy supply due to the steadily increasing energy demand, along with increasing energy security and climate change. Fossil fuels are still the primary power source of energy in the industrial sector, and their usage is continuing to increase, leading to the biggest increase in CO2 emission that affects the environment negatively. Hence, finding an alternative source that are eco-friendly and easily available on the earth is crucial. In this regard, interest in renewable energy technologies is growing steadily to fulfil the demands of the global energy transformation. It is imperative to develop various types of renewable energies, among which solar energy will be expected certainly to play a significant role in the future. One of the promising option of solar power source is the concentrated solar power (CSP) system since it is clean source of energy and contributes minor impacts toward the environment. A new CSP system is being evaluated by the current research using a linear Fresnel reflector (LFR). This work is notable for its novel LFR system design and feasibility analysis for producing electricity, heat, and/or to produce a steam to generate a turbine for better controlling the energy requirements in different areas and in both residential and commercial buildings. Indeed, aiming to fill this gap, we, researchers at Solar Equipment Development Unit (UDES), establish the first prototype LFR CSP produces heat reaching 250 °C, taking advantage of the sun to dramatically reducing the global warming. This process limits the gas emissions compared to the conventional process and prevents unwanted threats to the planet.

摘要
