Robotic Inguinal Hernia Repair
摘要
Minimally invasive inguinal hernia repair has been around since the 1990's. More recently, the robotic approach to inguinal hernia repair has seen an unprecedented rise in adoption. The robotic platform allows for articulating instruments, better ergonomics, and a three-dimensional view of the surgical field. While its benefits over traditional laparoscopic surgery are yet to be defined, the robotic approach may allow for better management of massive, recurrent, bilateral, or complex inguinal hernia repairs.
