Imaging is an important tool in both the diagnosis and preoperative planning prior to any surgical procedure. Ultrasound, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging are the most commonly used preoperative imaging. This chapter focuses on the indications for the various imaging modalities and also provides an overview of how to best utilize preoperative radiography for operative planning.
