Ventral hernia repairs are one of the most common procedures performed by general surgeons [1]. In low-risk patients, the onlay mesh placement after anterior component separation technique (ACST) is reported to be safe [2]. The onlay repair is replicable and easier for the general surgeon to perform. It does not require a deep knowledge of the abdominal wall, and it has a shorter learning curve when compared to the Rives-Stoppa repair.
