Robotic Enhanced-View Totally Extraperitoneal (eTEP) Access Rives-Stoppa Hernia Repair

Retrorectus hernia repair is rising in popularity for medium-sized abdominal wall defects and is associated with excellent results and low recurrence rates. With the advent of minimally invasive and robotic surgery, this surgery can be performed safely through small incisions on the abdominal wall. This chapter analyzes the history of retrorectus hernia repairs and focuses on technical aspects of robotic enhanced-view totally extraperitoneal (eTEP) access retrorectus hernia repair, its uses, and limitations.
