Businesses acknowledge the critical need for creativity, however they often fail in the management and systematic implementation of creativity within their processes and culture. The Adelaide Business School has endeavoured to address this issue by developing a creativity roadmap that considers the lifelong learning journey of individuals including but not limited to secondary, tertiary, executive and corporate education. Particularly, The Bachelor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship provides core and elective creativity courses into programs across the university faculties. These courses focus on broadening students’ thinking by developing their mental models, challenging their cognitive biases and establishing their ability to navigate ambiguity. This is done by providing a customized creativity toolbox that combines different theories, exercises and practices from the field. The Bachelor also provides the opportunity for anyone (including high school or non-university students) to undertake a business idea competition from idea generation to start-up where many aspects of creativity are utilized. The creativity roadmap is designed to provide credentials or credits according to programs completed.
