Cultivating Creative Thinking at Colorado College
摘要
Rather than building a stand-alone innovation program on the edge of campus, Creativity & Innovation (C&I) at Colorado College (CC) offers a more integrated approach. Through our Creative Courage Cohorts for faculty and students, Student Facilitator training, creativity-focused classes, course-specific collaborations, and Possibility Books, C&I provides opportunities for CC students to practice creative thinking within curricular and co-curricular contexts. We work closely with faculty from all divisions to design and implement curricular units and assignments that infuse creativity into disciplinary contexts. Our parallel offerings for faculty and students seek to develop a common language about creativity mindsets across CC. C&I develops programming and hosts Innovators in Residence, who model radical, interdisciplinary creativity. C&I supports students in developing a flexible, life-long creative skill set that allows them to bring playfulness, exploration, and experimentation into their daily lives, learn to collaborate across differences, and develop increased resilience, grit, and courage.
