This chapter presents a case study of the goals, designs and development of the creative space at Innovation Village within Fanshawe College, Ontario, Canada. It focuses on three primary considerations in developing creative space: (1) the vision of a learning space; (2) the typology of creative space (types and uses of a creative space; and (3) using the theme of Indigenous respect and learning within a creative space. The chapter identifies creative spaces and their use and presents examples of how Innovation Village incorporated a vision of twenty-first-century learning within the typology of creative space. It draws heavily on the work of Thoring et al. (2018) in defining and explaining Fanshawe’s experiences. It may present ideas that institutions can draw from when considering developing creative space within their campuses.
