Introduction
摘要
This chapter will give a broad outline and explanation of what we mean by schemas; loose parts, outdoor learning and play and affordance theory—it will set the context for the rest of the book. It will outline the rest of the chapters and discuss common features that will be found in each chapter. It will give a rationale for why this book is needed, why it is important and what knowledge it will provide for the reader. It will suggest who might find this book useful and how each chapter will support knowledge and understanding of schemas, loose parts and outdoor learning and play. It will include a ‘pause for thought’ question at the end asking the reader to consider their current understanding and any questions that they may have, at this point, about schemas, loose parts and outdoor learning. This will be revisited in the conclusion chapter to ascertain if their knowledge has changed/refined/been challenged and if their initial questions have been answered. There will be an outline and explanation of the key terminology found throughout the book in this chapter.
