Globally, there is a shift towards sustainable fuels and transportation methods due to mounting environmental concerns and depleting fossil fuel sources. A viable decarbonization and environmentally friendly transportation option that arises from popular demand is electric automobiles. Future smart cities can be built more quickly due to the advancement of EV technologies that have the potential to revolutionize sustainable and intelligent transportation. A paradigm change toward sustainable alternatives is becoming more necessary as the whole community struggles with the environmental issues raised by conventional transportation systems. The primary focus of this research is to explore the various facets of the growing sustainable transportation trend as the world's transportation landscape changes due to technological advancements and environmental concerns. Drawing from an extensive array of secondary sources, including literature, case studies, journal articles, and online searches, this research examines the transition's effects on the environment, economy and society, highlights the study as to how the revolutionary electric vehicles can be in reducing global warming and advancing sustainable urban development. This paper examines the new direction that electric vehicles (EVs) are taking in the development of environmentally friendly transportation. Based on an extensive analysis of current research, this report explores the advantages for the environment, financial implications, and society that come with the broad use of electric vehicles. The study also addresses obstacles that stand in the way of a fully developed sustainable electric vehicle ecosystem and offers suggestions for how to get past them. Policymakers, business stakeholders, and scholars interested in the future of sustainable transportation can benefit greatly from this research's sophisticated analysis of the current state of affairs. When used in the aforementioned context, the study's strategic sustainable development viewpoint should be able to lessen the likelihood of sub-optimizations in community and transportation system development. It broadens the analysis beyond the more popular focus on climate change issues. A more democratic, participatory approach to community development with a scientific basis might be encouraged by the general support for multi-stakeholder collaboration.
