Garbage Compactor with IOT Based Level Monitoring System

Waste disposal management is an important process to be handled with much care. In India, Chennai city alone generates 5.6 tons of waste every day. One of the primary problems of the present era is the detection, monitoring, and management of waste. Manually monitoring of garbage in waste bins throughout the city is a complicated and time-consuming process which requires more human work, time, and money. This research work, an automated garbage compacting and IOT Based Level Monitoring system is developed. This is a cutting-edge approach to trash management that is fully automated. Trash compactor that uses integrated infrared and ultrasonic sensors to detect the trash level inside the trash containment unit. This garbage compacting and IOT Based Level Monitoring technology is quite unique, which monitors the waste bins continuously and provides information on the quantity of rubbish collected in the bins via a web page. The information is sent to the appropriate city or municipality corporation via a website. Apart from other systems, this leverages linear actuators to compress and compact the collected garbage. Thereby yielding accurate levels of garbage, which in turn reduces the misinformation communicated by the other systems and energy efficient due to reduction of the manpower.
