The Effectiveness of Active Learning Strategies in Developing Critical Thinking Skills Among Students: A Case Study of the Elementary Stage

The objective of this research is to examine the efficacy of active learning strategies in fostering the growth of critical thinking skills among elementary stage students. A qualitative methodology was employed, incorporating the collection and analysis of information from various studies and books, as well as the examination of previous research and its relevance to the current study. Numerous active learning strategies were investigated, and their respective impacts on the development of students’ critical thinking skills were assessed. This study emphasizes the significance of implementing active learning strategies to enhance the level of critical thinking among students, offering a practical investigation within the realm of basic education. The study also addresses the challenges associated with implementing these strategies in Jordanian schools, taking into account the current educational landscape, and proposes guidelines to strengthen the application of these strategies within the educational system, with the ultimate goal of promoting critical thinking and improving student performance.
