Study the Effects of Fenugreek Biodiesel and Its Blend on Performance and Emission Characteristics of Diesel Engine
摘要
Three different fuel types are employed in this research to investigate the performance and emission characteristics of a diesel engine: pig oil-diesel (B20), fenugreek oil-methyl esters-diesel (B40), and pig oil-diesel. Study is being done on the effects of biodiesel which is made from fenugreek and pogamia on emissions and engine performance. The required testing is applied to several mixes, including B20 and B40. The test samples’ performance and emission characteristics were examined by the researchers by varying the load to 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100%. Whereas emissions measurement is based on factors like carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC), carbon dioxide (CO2), and nitrogen oxide (NOx), engine performance is compared using brake specific fuel consumption and brake thermal efficiency. Experimental results indicate that the diesel engine's performance was enhanced and its CO and HC emissions were decreased when biodiesel test mixes were substituted for diesel fuel. Only a little increase in NOx was seen when compared to diesel fuel. B20 was the biodiesel blend that fared the best in terms of performance and combustion parameters.
