Augmented reality (AR) reached a level of advancement where it can now be employed in real-time simulations, just as initially planned and envisioned. Between 2020 and 2030, AR will have an influential role in several sectors, covering the involving defense, education, and healthcare disciplines. The focus areas include manufacturing industries, vocational education, and virtual assistance. Navigation, gaming, and other hobbies are only a handful of examples. In the evolving education system, AR plays a crucial role by integrating AR into the learning environment, along with text and pictures, aligning with using various visual representations and principles of cognitive multimedia learning. This may be implemented in several other sectors as well. This study focuses on examining the influence of AR on students’ learning cognitive burden while learning about organic chemistry and discussing how the convergence of AR and AI is revolutionizing several domains and reshaping their societal influence.
