Characterization of Mechanical Strength of Clay/Seashell Powder Bio-Composite Material Throughout the Processes of Drying and Firing

This research looks into the compressive mechanical strength properties of an eco-friendly biocomposite material composed of clay and seashell powder, aimed at potential applications in the construction industry due to its sustainable composition. The research examines the material's compressive strength during its drying stage, focusing on the impact of seashell content and moisture on mechanical resistance. Additionally, the study examines how the biocomposite behaves chemically and microstructurally at different firing temperatures. Comprehensive techniques, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), are employed to analyze the material's internal structure and chemical composition during thermal processing. The outcomes offer insightful information about the mechanical characteristics of the clay/seashell powder biocomposite, crucial for optimizing manufacturing processes and enhancing its performance in applications such as ceramic manufacture.
