In recent decades, environmental contamination has escalated due to human operations on energy reserves, hazardous agricultural practices, and expanding industrialization. Environmental pollution constitutes a serious worldwide issue that threatens ecosystems, people’s health, and natural resources . Remediation techniques that are reliable are necessary to mitigate these impacts and clean up polluted areas. This chapter explores a multifaceted approach to remediation, focusing on integrated methods that work in concert to address various pollutants and site-specific issues. Pollution disturbs soils and plants, severely jeopardizing the availability of food. This eliminates advantageous microbes, minimizes soil organic matter, leads to nutrient imbalances, and alters plant growth and interaction with microbes, reducing soil and crop yields. Key remediation methods discussed include physical, chemical, and biological approaches, each tailored to optimize contaminant removal and site rehabilitation. Future directions focus on emerging technologies and sustainable practices, underscoring the importance of continual innovation in environmental remediation efforts.
