The purpose of this chapter is to explore the dynamics of Organisational Identity, its Becoming. This dynamic dimension of OI is captured in the term ‘Identification Process’. This Process represents OI-in-the-making, its activated Genetic Code, so to speak. Three types of the Identification Process are discussed in depth: first, OI Work—bringing Organisational Identity into being; second, Identification Work—establishing a Common Social Identity; and, third, Embedding Identity Work—aligning the Organisational Landscape around OI as center piece. The chapter concludes with a discussion of the psychosocial dynamics of the Identification Process, explicated in terms of ego defences and organisational defence mechanisms.

摘要
