The Fourth Industrial Revolution has introduced new opportunities, challenges, and threats. One of these is the adaptability of all generations, which has become a crucial aspect of emerging professions and evolving job profiles in the context of Industry 4.0. This article addresses the discrepancy between the shortage of human resources with the necessary qualifications and the challenges faced by the silver generation in securing employment, particularly in light of the ageing population in Slovakia. The aim of this article is to identify both the opportunities and barriers to employing the silver generation in the labour market, and to propose solutions for enhancing the employability of this age group.
