Clinical debriefing is a common practice in medical education. These sessions support students in integrating learning across domains. Clinical debrief sessions provide the opportunity for students to describe their experiences, wrestle with emotions and conflicting ideas, develop clinical reasoning skills through thoughtful conversation with experienced clinicians, and develop their professional identity as future clinicians. This chapter will give clinical debrief facilitators insight into effective clinical debriefing practices and the importance of learning to listen to learners throughout this process.
