Optical Wireless Communication for Vehicular Networks
摘要
With the eminent growth in vehicular data traffic, it becomes essential to focus on the key requirements of vehicular data traffic and develop solutions to enhance the quality of service (QoS) of the vehicular users. The integrated optical wireless networks can ensure the QoS requirements of the vehicular data traffic. This chapter focuses on two specific use cases of integrated optical wireless networks in the context of vehicular networks. Firstly, a hybrid radio frequency (RF)-visible light communication (VLC)-based vehicle-to-everything (V2X) system is developed to ensure QoS to vehicular users utilizing the visible light range of the spectrum. Thereafter, an integrated fiber-wireless (FiWi) access network-based vehicular network is presented wherein the classification of vehicular data traffic is utilized to ensure the QoS of the vehicular users.
