Ear, Nose, and Throat Complaints in Primary Care: Assessing from a Remote Perspective
摘要
With the rise of telehealth, remote consultations for ear, nose, and throat (ENT) conditions have become not only possible but highly effective—especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. What once seemed like a specialty requiring in-person visits is now adapting to the digital world, making quality ENT care more accessible. This chapter takes a closer look at the most common ENT complaints seen in primary care and how they can be assessed and managed remotely. It offers practical guidance on helping patients perform self-examinations, deciding when an in-person visit is necessary, and ensuring patient safety with clear follow-up strategies. It also addresses the challenges and advantages of teleconsultations in ENT and highlights best practices to enhance both clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction. By refining our approach to remote ENT care, we can bridge gaps in accessibility, improve early diagnosis, and provide patients with timely, effective treatment—all from the comfort of their own homes.
