In females, across the lifespan, circulating testosterone (T) is ten-times more abundant than estradiol. Although clinical trials have focused of the effects of T supplementation in postmenopausal women’s libido and well-being, the physiological impact of T in female metabolic homeostasis is not explored. This chapter discusses the benefits of T on skeletal, vascular, and metabolic health in postmenopausal women with T deficiency. Optimizing levels of T in postmenopausal women with T deficiency may be beneficial to women well-being and to protect women from cardiometabolic disease and frailty during aging, which requires further study.
