The Model for Teaching Critical Global Learning is the first component of the conceptual framework which this book presents. The purpose of the model is to offer educators a conceptualisation of the overlaps between critical thinking and global citizenship education in a practical and visual format. The model includes three main components. Firstly, at the centre of the model is a core commitment to critical thinking upon which all other aspects of the model depend. Surrounding this core commitment are two arcs. The arc on the right of the model details the skillset necessary for critical global learners to develop. The skillset includes four main skills, and eleven sub-skills. The arc on the left includes the factors that educators should consider when approaching the teaching of critical global learning. There are four main considerations offered, which are subsequently broken down into separate sub-considerations. This chapter will detail all components of the framework and offer comment on the purpose, origin, theoretical foundation, and practical implementation of each aspect, grounding the model in both theory and research, and highlighting how each component was the outcome of an iterative process.

摘要
