Urbanization is faster in developing countries, with overpopulation within limited space and challenges of sustainability of livelihood and health and well-being. The nature of urbanization in India is population growth rather than development. The continuous rural-to-urban migration flux enriches the city’s population. Still, substantial infrastructural development is not so evident at the same time, resulting in inequitable distribution of basic amenities and inaccessibility to essential services. Simultaneously, the slum population, the most deprived group, is increasing faster with the process of pseudo-urbanization. This chapter deals with the conclusion, significant policy implication, and application of Health GIS for preventing disease prevalence and improving the quality of life of the urban poor in the present socioeconomic and environmental circumstances with the SMART approaches, which will be effective in many developing nations. Though the government has implemented different programs and policies for slum upgrading, the possibility of improving livelihood systems through individual action is limited. Therefore, more refinement of the data structure with advanced geospatial techniques (Health GIS) may be appended to high exactitude over a spatial frame. Geographic barriers should be reduced to discover new innovative technologies such as telehealth and information and communication technology (ICT).
