Nature of Health Coping Mechanism
摘要
A coping mechanism is a strategy or method associated with human life that manages every aspect of daily life’s problems. Urban poor have adopted different coping strategies during the year and health shocks. An intense study has been carried out on the nature of the health coping mechanism of slum neighborhoods in the context of detrimental socioeconomic and environmental circumstances. This chapter systematically analyzes the complex patterns of health coping strategies among the different age groups of urban poor, involving multiple perspectives with developed WYHCI and HSCI. The geo-visual analytical tool examines the spatial patterns of varying health coping types among the urban poor based on comprehensive field study and datasets. This chapter deliberately visualizes multiple dimensions of health coping mechanisms (spatiotemporal trends) with various problems using PCA, OLS, and multinomial logistic regression tools. It simultaneously manifests substantial facts through various collective perspectives considering situational socioeconomic and environmental circumstances.
