Resisting Financial Inequity
摘要
This chapter explores risks and protective factors that influence financial resilience and examines systems of all levels that impact financial stability. It brings together content at the global, national, family, and individual levels related to why some people may experience economic well-being while others live in poverty. Policies that contribute to financial discrimination and stress are also explored. Practice examples illustrate the four phases of the resilience-enhancing stress model and how social workers may use the model’s tenets to help individuals, families, and communities become financially secure. The focus is on issues related to people’s ability to deal with financial challenges in their everyday lives and sustain their financial resiliency.
