The sudden appearance of Yemeni asylum seekers on Jeju Island in 2018 seems to be an accidental flow that created a new linkage between South Korea and Yemen. Yet their migration reveals entanglements of connections that have already been in place. Yemenis’ mobility intersects different Asias, reshaping South Korea’s landscape. Going beyond celebrating diversity and urging for tolerance and solidarity to address unexpected, unwilled living together in the era of enhanced migration, this chapter reminds ‘us’ that ‘their’ emergence is related to us and that their lives are intricately tied to ours. Tracing the hidden threads of interconnectedness, the anthropological inquiry highlights our participation in the coexistence—collaborating coexistence.
