Distal Radius Fracture
摘要
Normal psychomotor development, the process of exploring new experiences, added to the increase in energy and violence of children’s games, have increased the frequency and complexity of fractures in pediatric patients. The distal arm fractures do not escape this reality. One in four minors will consult at an emergency department for a traumatic event, and a fifth of them will be diagnosed with a fracture. Of these, a third will correspond to a distal forearm fracture. It is estimated that 210,000 forearm fractures occur per year in children in the United States, which shows us the magnitude of this pathology and the need to have protocolized treatments that ensure an optimal result and without sequelae in patients, considering quality scientific evidence when defining them. Most of these fractures can be treated in a conservative manner, but some will require surgical treatment to achieve a proper result.
